Forever Home…

Magnificent Promises

In the morning News there’s a segment on Pet adoption. They were speaking about finding the forever home for these animals. We adopt our pets into our family and they become part of the family. They are loved, treated well and the needs are taken care of. The things we are looking to get back from our beloved pets is companionship and love.

Before adoption, these animals were not wanted and were in a bad environment. I think about some living on the streets and struggling just trying to find something to eat everyday. Suffering and hungry… exposed to the rain, the cold and all the environmental hazards.

Then someone saw their needs and brought them to an animal shelter. The shelter cleaned them up and prepared them for their forever home. After they are adopted, they no longer have to worry about food or their environment forever.

Then I started to think about our lives and our forever home. Like the unadopted animals, many of us live in a very bad environment. An environment of sin and corruption. We live for self…. You know, “If it feels good… do it.” The problem with this philosophy, the good feeling never lasts or do you get enough of it. So here’s the good news… You can change that environment.

What about your forever home? Our life on this earth is just temporary. James 14:4 says, “…For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.” Everything on this earth is temporary! What about our forever home? We all are going to live somewhere forever. The choice is ours. Just like the pets, there’s a bad and good environment for our forever home. Where do you want to be? We all will be adopted by someone. Again it’s our choice, who we are to be adopted by God or satan.

In John 14:2 Jesus tells us, “In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you” God wants to adopt you into his family and give you a forever home.

In summary, Have you been adopted into the kingdom of God. John 1:12 says, “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.” It’s a completely different story for those who have not accepted Christ as their savior. Those who have not accepted him will live forever in shame and everlasting contempt in a place called hell.

So my question is this: Where do you want to spend eternity? We are standing on the edge of eternity. None of us are promised another day. So please Don’t put this off! There is no better time than the present to accept the gift of salvation from God and be adopted as one of His children. Take a moment now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
