Court…
This week I would like to share a story I came across about a young lady going to court. I hope you enjoy it.
“Court” Author unknown
A young lady committed a crime, and she was sent to court. The punishment for the crime was life imprisonment. She shed tears for help but there was no one available to help. When the case was called in court she started weeping.
Her family and friends who accompanied her also started to weep because there was no hope. But something happened. Before the young lady could stand in the witness box a man stood up and the court room was silent. Everyone looked at Him. He was noble and gentle. He stood in the witness box and interceded on behalf of the woman.
The case was difficult, yet He used all His strength, energy and resources to fight on behalf of the woman. After a long legal battle between the man and the accusers, the lady was set free.
The lady fell before the man and asked ‘WHO ARE YOU ‘
The next day the lady deliberately committed another crime and was sent to the same court.
As soon as she entered the courtroom, she saw the man who interceded for her the previous day on the judgment seat. He was no longer a lawyer, but a judge.
With smiles on her face the lady said ‘I have come again’
The man lifted his head and said ‘yesterday I was a lawyer, so I fought for you, even when you were guilty. But today I am a judge, and my judgment must be fair.’
With tears in the lady’s eyes, she asked for the second time ‘WHO ARE YOU ‘
The man replied “YESTERDAY I WAS YOUR SAVIOUR. BUT NOW I AM YOUR JUDGE”
Today Christ Jesus is our lawyer and redeemer, but a day is coming when He will give a fair judgment to everyone.
JESUS IS COMING SOON, SO PREPARE TO MEET HIM.
There’s so much truth to this story… When we have nowhere to turn, God is there. The first time she appeared in court, she was rescued from certain lifelong punishment by someone she didn’t know.
Likewise, Jesus rescues us from an eternity of punishment if we except His help. In 2 Timothy 4:18 says, “And the Lord will deliver (rescues) me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!” All we need to do is ask God for His help and forgiveness and we will escape eternal punishment.
There is coming a day that each of us will account to God on how we lived our life. Ecclesiastes 12:14 tells us, “For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing, Whether good or evil.” God will judge everything you have done in this life.
This being said, are you ready to stand in front of God and give an account of your life? Here’s the good news, God Son Jesus will stand up for us at the final judgement and intercede for us IF we know him. Otherwise like the story above, you will be on your own. God will judge and do according to what is right and just.
In summary, if you want Jesus to intercede on your behalf, you must know Him and have a relationship with Him. So, how is your relationship with Him? If you never had a relationship with Jesus, or maybe you have lost fellowship with Him. There’s no better time than the present to renew or get a relationship with God. None of us is guaranteed another second on this earth.
Please just take a moment now, dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior. All you need to do is ask the Lord to come into your life. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
