Under Fire…

This week I would like to share some amazing facts about pinecones. I’m always amazed how God designed the things of this earth. The pinecone is an example of this.

When we think of burning pinecones, we often associate it with the warmth and comfort of a cozy fire. When a forest fire rages many of the trees are killed.  However, there is something remarkable that happens when a pinecone is exposed to flames: it opens up, revealing the hidden beauty within. The seeds inside of the pinecone brings new life to the forest. God has replanted the Pine trees.

Just as the heat of the fire is necessary to transform the pinecone, so too is the conviction necessary for a person to realize the need for change. Conviction is a powerful force that can bring about profound transformation, just as the heat of the fire can bring about the transformation of the pinecone. It is often through times of difficulty, pain, or struggle that we are forced to confront our shortcomings and seek God’s path towards redemption.

Becoming a Christian is not simply a matter of attending church or following a set of rules. It is a transformative experience that requires a deep personal commitment to live a life guided by faith and love of God. Just as the pinecone opens up to reveal its inner beauty, a person who embraces Christianity opens themselves up to the possibility of a new life through God. This transformation can be difficult and uncomfortable, but it is ultimately a process of salvation.

In both cases, the process of transformation involves letting go of old ways of being and embracing a new way of life. Just as the pinecone sheds its outer layer to reveal the beauty within, so too must a person shed their old self to embrace a new identity grounded in faith and love.

The pinecone also reminds us of the cycle of life and death. Just as the pinecone must burn in order to release its seeds and enable new growth, so too must we sometimes let go of old habits and patterns in order to embrace God’s plan for our life.

Becoming a born-again believer involves a symbolic death and rebirth, as we let go of our old self and embrace a new way of being. This process is not always easy, but it is ultimately necessary for growth and transformation.

Jesus tells us that we must bear this cross daily. Luke 9:23, “And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow Me”

Just has the pinecone has to go through a fire, we  are trial by fire. 1 Peter 4:12-13 says, “Dear ones, don’t be surprised when you experience your trial by fire. It is not something strange and unusual, but it is something you should rejoice in…” Like the pinecone, fire brings new life and growth.

In conclusion, the image of a pinecone opening when burned is a powerful symbol of transformation and new life. It reminds us of the power of conviction and the need to let go of old patterns and habits of the world in order to embrace new life with God.

Becoming a Christian is a transformative experience that involves shedding our old worldly self and embracing a new way of life guided by God. The trails or fires we face today, only makes our faith stronger and makes us a better servant to God.

In closing, has your life been fully transformed like the pinecone?  Have you gone through the fire? Have you pick up your cross and followed Jesus? Maybe you have confessed your faith but have never pick up the cross and gave up the things of the world. My friend, if this sound like you, it’s time to take up your cross and follow Jesus. It’s time to get a good relationship with God. He is waiting on you.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and arose from the grave. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” and in Romans 10:9 tells us, that “if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

None of us likes going through the fire. Remember this verse’s when the heat is turned up.

Romans 8:28 – “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.

Romans 8:31 – “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
