Are you deceived? I think, if we were honest about it, we would all have to say we’ve been deceived at one time or another. It seems like, in this world we live in today, there’s always somebody wanting to deceive us. So today I would like to speak a little bit about deception.
The definition of deceive is, “to cause someone to believe something that is not true an order to gain personal advantage.” The first example I think of is a used car salesman. you know the pitch… “This is a great car, driven by a little old lady to church and grocery store once a week.” The salesperson will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to buy this car. What about our politicians? Do you think they deceive us? I would like to take a look about deceptive laws by government and how effects us.
Some 47 years ago on Jan 22, Roe vs Wade – U.S. Supreme Court Decision was handed down allowing abortion. Just because of this ruling some people think it’s okay with God to have an abortion. The Bible tells us different. Remember God’s Laws always trumps man’s laws. Just because we can do something… doesn’t mean it’s right or with Gods approval. A fetus is a human baby. In Jeremiah 1:5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Numerous times there are references in the Bible that tells us that a fetus is a human baby. In Isaiah 44:2 “Thus says the Lord who made you And formed you from the womb, who will help you:” So when a baby is aborted the Bible tells us that we are committing a premeditated murder. Today even some of our churches accept abortion. Do not be deceived by a church or a law! My Friend, God’s word has not changed… It will never change. (Click here for more information on abortion)
Another law our government has passed is same-sex marriages. The Bible is very clear that marriage is between one man and one woman. The Bible refers to same-sex marriages as an abomination. In Leviticus 20:13 says, “If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death.” Many justify same-sex marriages because a law says it is legal to do… but this doesn’t mean God approves of it. Churches today are accepting same-sex marriages. Do not be deceived by a church or a law! Again the Bible has not changed…. same-sex marriages are a sin against nature and God. (Click here for more information on same sex marriages)
In conclusion, don’t be deceived by the government laws or by a church Doctrine. Just because the government or church says it’s okay doesn’t mean that God approves of it. We have God’s reference book and it’s called the Bible. If you want to know the will of God you have to open the Bible, study it and pray. Ask God to show you the answers.
Jesus warns us in Matthew 20:4, “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.”
Finally, God is able to forgive every sin. Even if we have been deceived. In 1 John 1:9 “the Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” No matter how big or what kind of sins may be in your passed… God will forgive you if you ask. There’s no better time to ask for forgiveness than now! Jesus is waiting for you! May God Bless you.
