Our Political Leaders…..

 

In today’s society it seems that everyone is complaining about the way our country is being run. The Democrats criticize the Republican party and the Republicans criticize the Democratic party. When you turn on the news, all you hear about is our political parties blaming each other for the ills of America.  People are complaining and protesting everything our country leaders are doing.

There’s a lot of things our country’s leaders do that I do not agree with. But understand this, it’s our duty as a Christian Citizen to support our country leaders…. no matter which political party they are in. If they’re issues we do not agree with, It’s okay to voice your opinion peacefully and with respect.  But it is wrong as a Christian, not to submit and respect the offices of President, Congress, Representatives and Judges of the United States.

As Christians the Bible teaches us to submit to our government’s Authority. Romans Chapter 13 Verse 1 and 2 says, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities; for there is no authority except from God, and those authorities that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists authority resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment.” God has given authority to those elected officials, and we are to submit to those governing. It goes on to say, if we resist their authority we are resisting what God has appointed and will occur a judgement.

In verse 7 of Romans 13 we find, “ Pay to all what is due them—taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.” We need to respect and honor our leaders and their offices.

My final point… It seems to me in our two Political party system we have today, our politicians are more concerned with their self, re-election and their political party agenda than with Our Country. We elected these politicians for the betterment of our country not the betterment of self or their political party. It’s time that our political parties stop fighting with each other and start working for the betterment of America.  Our country is in trouble and it’s time or our politicians to wake up and unite under one God to make this country great. We need to get back to the Biblical principles that this country was founded on. Now as Christians we need to submit to authority, support and respect our government leaders.

I ask you to pray everyday for this Country, President, Congress, Representatives and Judges. May God bless and keep America strong.
