Sneaky Satan…

Magnificent Promises

This week I would like to share with you a post on Facebook from my friend Vernon Hodges. I think we all need to be reminded that there is a spiritual war going on and Satan is on the attack. We have the resources not to fall in Satan’s trap. Thank you Vernon for this post.

Material Possessions. One of the reasons God requires us to have faith is because God is spirit, and you can’t see him as Jesus explained in John 4:23-24 “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”  This doesn’t mean there is no physical evidence for God.

Satan wants to isolate you so that he can lie to you. He will try to get you alone and get in your head. He’ll tell you that you can’t make it, you’re not worthy, or you’re not good enough. That you were supposed to be smarter, prettier, a better person, or make fewer mistakes. Sound familiar? These are all lies that Satan wants you to believe about yourself, but God has a different point of view

The Bible tells us in Genesis 1:27 that we have been made in the image of God, that we are more than conquerors, (Romans 8:37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”) and that we can do all things through Christ! (Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.) There’s one thing I want you to walk away with today, it’s this: Satan does NOT want you to be confident In the Lord Jesus Christ.

He is crafty and he will wiggle his way into your life and cause you all kinds of disruption. If Satan can control you with insecurity and shame, you won’t rise to your full potential in Christ! If you set around and focus on negatives that is where your life will be centered.

True happiness can only come by have faith in trust in God. The more you step out in faith and trust God to build your spiritual character the more you will grow in Christ and the more people will see Christ in you. The devil wants to sneak up on you. He prowls around like a lion just looking for the right opportunity. If Satan came to you in a little red suit with a pitchfork and announced himself as the devil, you wouldn’t believe a word he said. I wish he would, but he is cunning and disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14  “And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.)  When he deceived Eve, he even quoted Scripture—so he will come to us with his lies and those lies may come through others we know to deceive us in letting our spiritual guard down and he moves in for the kill.

Most of the time it is little things like spelt milk on a counter top, or a flat tire in a most inopportune moment or words spoken by someone that offend you. It is moments like this Satan relishes in using to defeat you.  Be aware that Satan is a craft being and picks and chooses how he will attack. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you” (James 4:7)

Satan roars: “If you follow Christ, you will wind up unloved and lonely.” God says, “The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed” (Deuteronomy 31:8). “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! What I am saying to you, we are not to take on the world by ourselves we are to put our faith in Christ who has already conquered the things we face.

When we find that we are facing difficult times, Stop! Don’t Panic! God has known about your situation before, well, before time even existed. People often panic about things that God already has under control. It’s just a matter of having faith in Him to bring us through the situation and in turn reacting appropriately with our actions.

I have found myself in such moments today, so I ask that you pray for me and together with God, I will make it through.

In closing my friend, Who are you trusting? God or Satan? The things of this world may help you in this life but can’t stop you from dying. If you follow only Satan, he becomes your god and this will determine where you will spend your eternity.

It’s time to turn from Satan and turn and trust God.  John 5:24 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” The plan is simple. Hear & Believe. Notice it didn’t say May NOT come to judgement… But says “Shall Not” come to judgement. No doubt about it.

My question to you… do you know where you are going to spend eternity? Maybe you have never believed and trusted in God. Or maybe you have believed in God, but Satan has started to deceive you & replace your beliefs. Has Satan put some doubt in your life.  If this sounds like you, it’s time to make things right and there is no better time than now.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

I pray that God will truly Help and Bless you. If you would like for me to pray with you, please email me at Bob.L@magnificentPromises.com.

May God Bless and Keep!
