Snow…

Magnificent Promises

A few days ago I was watching the snowfall and was thinking about the beauty of this event.  As I was thanking God for the beauty He has created, I thought of some ways that snow is similar to our Christian lives.  I want to share a few of these thoughts.

The Snowflake… The snowflake by itself is beautifully designed, each being different in itself.  By itself it doesn’t do much or cause any problems.  But when it joins together with other snowflakes it can stop a moving city.  Similarly when we as Christians join to gather in prayer we become very powerful.  In Matthew 18:19 we find this, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.”  Any time we pray it’s powerful, but when we join with each other in prayer it’s very powerful!

Then as I watched the snow covering the grass and dirt areas of my lawn, I thought about how the blood of Jesus covers our dirty areas of our lives.  God gave us the perfect sacrifice for our sins.  Jesus, without any sin, died on the cross for our sins so we do not have to die for them. Isaiah 1:18 says,  “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”  The snow covers everything making it white.  There is nothing that it does not cover.  In other words… There is no sin too great to be forgiven by God.

When the snow had stopped and the sun came out it was so bright you could hardly look at it.   The sunlight reflects off the snow and makes it very bright.  I thought about the day God forgave us of our sins and how the heavenly glow or light was reflected by us.  We reflected God’s light as it shown on us. In John 8:12 says, “Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Later in the day I heard a rumbling noise outside. There came a truck plowing and spreading salt to clear the road.  I thought about this for a while… Man is destroying the beauty of the snow that God has created. Thinking about our life’s… we can let man destroy what God has created. When we let the things of man get in the way of God’s creations, we are in trouble. As I watch the snow slowly disappear on the roads, just like us when man’s things get into our life, Our relationship with God starts to fade or melt away.

Question… How is your relationship with God? Has it melted away? In Matthew 21:7 says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”  Maybe you never had a real relationship with God… Or maybe your relationship is not as good as it first was.

So here’s my question to you… how’s your relationship with God?

You may go to Church, give generously to the Ministry, sing in the choir or maybe even a Sunday School teacher. None of these things will save your soul. It starts with a personal relationship with God. We are all standing on the edge of eternity. None of us are promised another day. So please don’t put this off! There is no better time than the present to start or maybe renew your relationship with God. Take a moment now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Next time it snows, take a moment and thank God for the beauty of the snow and your life. I pray that God will truly Help and Bless you.
