Today we find our society has changed so much from what it was even 50 years ago. There were many laws about unacceptable sinful behavior that’s changed in the last few years. Some of these changes are good… but others promote Sin. We are told by our government, by Society, by schools and even our churches, that we must be tolerant of these sinful laws. Laws such as homosexual marriage, abortions ,drugs, and more.
Today I want to speak about what I call the Social Church. Some Churches today are more interested and membership, revenue, and church programs. There’s nothing wrong with these unless they are your main focus. The main focus of every Church should be spreading the word about Jesus Christ and his teachings… and not the social aspects of the church.
The bible warns us about false teachers in 2 Corinthians 11 Verses 13 & 14, “For such men are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light.” The teaching of a church should be based upon Christ and the Bible and nothing else.
We are seeing Churches changing their Doctrine to accept everyone. By this I mean some Churches will allow what its members want and not follow what the Bible teaches. For example… accepting the politically correct homosexual lifestyle. There are at least 7 verses in the Bible that directly condemned the homosexual lifestyles. How can we accept a homosexual marriages in our Church? Do you really think God accepts these marriages? Has God changed? Has the Bible changed? Also we find churches today that accept abortion… and teach it’s okay with God. The Bible clearly states that abortion is wrong. How can some socialized churches accept it? Killing a baby is wrong no matter how you look at it. In 2nd Timothy chapter 4 verse 3 & 4 states, “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” NIV, God has not changed. God is the same today, as he was yesterday and will be the same tomorrow. God’s word has not changed either. The God your Grandparents and Parents believed in is still the same God.
These churches are deceiving its members thinking that God accepts these new teachings. In Matthew 7:22 we find, “Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them,‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’ As we see here, some Church leaders will lead you to Hell in the name of God.
Time to ask yourself some tough questions about where you are worshiping. Does your Church believe the same as the world? What’s the main focus of your church? Does your Church teach what’s in the Bible? My Friend if you have any doubt about what your church is teaching and accepting, It’s time to Pray about it. Ask God to reveal the truth and read the Bible. Remember it is not what people tell you… It’s what God will reveal to you. Find a new church if need be.
