Who’s your God???

Magnificent Promises

About a year ago Covid 19 appeared in this country.  Very little was known and there was a lot of miss information on this deadly virus.  There was panic and concern while others thought it was a joke.  But this microscopic virus would change the whole world as we know it.

I started thinking about the church and the many ways things have changed in the past year.  Who would ever thought the churches would shut their doors!  No longer were we able to worship like we did for the past 200 plus years in this country.  We found alternative ways to worship.  We started to watch internet services, going to drive-in services and of course we watched services on TV’s.

You would think the churches would be mobbed with people seeking God’s help and protection.  But the people who needed God the most turned to “science” and or the government.  Has the Government become a new god? They have restricted our movement, our work, our worship and made us dependent on them for our necessities of life.  The government gave us more money for unemployment, stimulus checks, and forgivable business loans. They want you completely dependent on them!

As we head for summer this year, we are finding the government relaxing the rules.  But another stimulus package is on the way.  Even though there’s a $1400 payment to most, The majority of this money is going for “pet projects”. The Ideal is to make more people dependent on the government. To become their god.

So… Where are we heading in 2021?  Are you turning to the government or turning to God?

The number one command or commandment in the Bible is to put God first.  Exodus 20:3 tells us, You shall have no other gods before Me.” Also in “In Matthew 22:37 says. “Jesus said to him, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’’  We are to have no other gods!  We are to put God in Heaven first and depend on Him for all our needs.

Are you dependent on God? God tells us in Matthew 6:25-27, “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span? (NASB)

Also in Matthew 25:31-33 tells us, “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing? For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you. (NASB)

Question… Are you allowing the government to be your god?  How is your relationship with Jesus?  In Matthew 21:7 says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.”  Maybe you never had a real relationship with God… Or maybe your relationship is not as good as it first was.

You may go to Church, give generously to the Ministry, sing in the choir or maybe even a Sunday School teacher. None of these things will save your soul. It starts with a personal relationship with God. We are all standing on the edge of eternity. None of us are promised another day. So please don’t put this off! There is no better time than the present to start or maybe renew your relationship with God. Take a moment now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Remember that God has not and will not ever change.  He is the same yesterday today and forever.  Turn to God for all your needs and He will provide!

May God Bless and Keep You!
