Who is Jesus?

“Who is Jesus of Nazareth?” As we go into the Easter holiday month, I would like to look at This question. I think most of us have heard of Him. Jaroslav Pelikan wrote, “Jesus of Nazareth has been the dominant figure in the history of Western culture for almost 20 centuries.” Jesus historical significance is indisputable.

Many religions recognize Jesus. For example, Christians believe Jesus as the son of God and savior, Muslims believe Jesus was a wise prophet, Hindus believe He was an avatar or an incarnate divine teacher, Jesus is recognized and revered in Islam as a prophet, and the modern Jews believe He was a great teacher. Even most atheists acknowledge Jesus was a real person. It’s hard to argue that anyone “has impacted mankind more than Jesus of Nazareth.”

Jesus, also known as Jesus Christ, is a central figure in Christianity and is considered by Christians to be the Son of God and the Savior of humanity. The life and teachings of Jesus are primarily recorded in the New Testament of the Bible, which includes the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

According to Christian beliefs, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, Judea, around 4 to 6 B.C. His mother was Mary, a young Jewish woman, and he was conceived by the Holy Spirit, making his birth miraculous. Every year people around the world, celebrate the birth of Jesus. This event is known as Christmas.

Jesus’ ministry began around the age of 30, and he spent approximately three years teaching, performing miracles, and spreading a message of love, forgiveness, and the Kingdom of God. Think about the impact that only 3 years of Jesus’ life had… and is still having on the world.  During that time, He also gathered 12 men which would become His disciples. These disciples would continue to teach about the kingdom of God, even after Jesus’ death.

The climax of Jesus’ life, according to Christian theology, was his crucifixion. He was arrested, tried, and sentenced to death by crucifixion by the Roman authorities with the urging of the Jewish leaders. Christians believe that through his sacrificial death, Jesus atoned for the sins of humanity, providing a way for people to be reconciled with God.

The resurrection of Jesus is a fundamental belief in Christianity. According to the Gospels, Jesus rose from the dead on the third day after his crucifixion, demonstrating victory over sin and death. Today, this event is celebrated as Easter.

Christians believe Jesus is the Christ, the “Son of Man,” “Son of God,” “God in flesh,” the Messiah, and savior. Jesus being fully God and fully man walked on this earth and never committed any sin. Jesus was perfect.

The Bible tells us, That we all have sin. Romans 3:23 says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” We can’t live up to the standards that God has set for us. In Romans 6:23 the bible tells us what the punishment is for our sins. “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

We are condemned to eternal death in hell. Hell is a real place of never-ending burning and suffering. But God has graciously given us a way out. God sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins. Jesus was a substitute for our death. Jesus willingly took our sins and was crucified for them. The price or cost of our sin is death, which was paid in full by the death of God’s Son. It’s a free gift and all we need to do is ask.

My question to you is… Have you asked God for your Free Gift of Salvation? Today is a great day to ask for forgiveness. This may be the last day on earth for you. Remember, everyone who died yesterday had plans for today. They thought they had more time.  Please don’t put this off any longer… you may never have another chance.

Please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and arose from the grave. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” and in Romans 10:9 tells us, ”that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;

I pray that God will Bless and Keep!!!
