Choices…

This week I had someone ask me “Why does God send people to Hell? After all God is Good, God is Love, and God is Merciful. So, why would he send and torture anyone or anything? He when on to say that everyone should go to Heaven.  These are very good questions I replied, let me try to give you an understanding and answers some of these questions.

The first thing I want to say, God doesn’t send anyone to Hell or for that matter to Heaven.  God gives us the choice. Hell was created for Satan, his demons and his followers.  Even Satan made a choice, he decided to NOT follow God and go his own way.

Adam & Eve had a choice, to eat of the forbidden fruit from the tree of Knowlege or not to eat of it.  God had told them they could eat of every tree EXCEPT the tree of knowledge. It was their choice, to eat fruit and sin against God, which brought judgement or a consequence for their sin and put a curse upon all of mankind.

Today, each one of us has the choice of Heaven or Hell. We, not God, are responsible for the consequences of our choice.  We can choose to follow God, or we can choose to follow Satan.

But brother Bob he said, I live a good life. I give my money to the church, I attend almost every Sunday, and I even helped with the food for Vacation Bible School. I am a very good person!  I said, it’s great to be a good person, but no matter what we do we cannot earn our way to Heaven.

I asked, do you know the 10 commandments?   You Know like, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not murder, you shall not steal or lie. My friend, if you have broken any one of the commandments, you are guilty of breaking them all.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

God offers a choice. Take the Free Gift and spend eternity with Him in heaven or refuse the Free Gift and do nothing.  By doing nothing you have made your choice to follow Satan and His demons to Hell.  God doesn’t send you there, it’s your choice to go there.

We are responsible for the consequences of our choice. We can’t put the blame on anyone or anything else. It is not the churches’ fault, your pastor or family’s fault, but the fault lies totally upon you and the choice you made. You will be accountable to God for your choices.

The consequence for our choice is found in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” We all have sin and are sinners.

God gave us a way to be pardon for our sins. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

This is a free gift from God. All we have to do is to ask God for the gift. When we ask God to forgive us of our sins, God will pardon us and will give us His free gift no matter what your transgressions are. This will begin a relationship with God that will last forever.

In closing, none of us is guaranteed another hour on earth. Are you ready for death? Have your sins been Pardon or forgiven? We will answer to God for everything we have done on this earth. Some will be pardoned, and their transgressions forgiven, and others will pay the consequences for the choices we made in our life for eternity.

So, here’s the Final Question, how’s your relationship with God? Maybe you never had a relationship with Jesus, or maybe you have lost your fellowship with Him. There’s no better time than the present to get a relationship with God or to renew your relationship with Him. Remember, none of us is guaranteed another second on this earth.

Please just take a moment right now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior. All you need to do is ask the Lord to come into your life. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
