Be all you can be…

Magnificent Promises

The other day I saw an advertisement from our Armed Forces that said “Be all you can Be!”  You have to love the concept to be all you can be… that is to maximize and live your life to the fullest.  I would like to explore this concept in our spiritual life.

The phrase “Be all you can Be” Has been used since the beginning of time.  In the Garden of Eden, Satan appeared to Eve and she could be as a God if she would eat the forbidden fruit.  Genesis 3:4-5 says, “Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  In other words Satan told Eve she could be all she wanted to be(Like God).

Throughout history we can see examples of this.  We find people have become obsessed in gaining power, wealth, and fame just to name a few.  Satan has put his desire in their hearts and nothing or no one will keep them from achieving these goals.  These desires becomes their god because they live and put them first in their life’s.

Satan even tried to tempt Jesus. The devil took Jesus to the top of a mountain and showed Him all that He could be. Luke 4:5-7 says, “Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” Satan told Jesus that He could “Be all He could be” if He followed him.  Jesus replied telling the devil that God was first in His life.  Luke 4:8 says, “And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’ ”

Now let’s take a different look at “Be all you can Be.” There is nothing wrong in living a full life and trying to live all you can be.  Everything on this earth has been given to us by God and to be used by us for our needs and enjoyment.  That is… until you become obsessed with things of this world and it becomes a god to you.

Question… Are you all you can be for God? I think most of us would say no to that question. I know for myself I could be more… How about you?  Maybe we should be a bit more obsessed with God.  Remember my friend, there will come a time that everyone of us will stand in front of God and answer for what we have done in this life.

In closing, Are you all you can be for God or for Satan?  The things of this world may give enjoyment and help you in this life but can’t stop you from dying.  Satan tells us, Live Life to the fullest and not to worry about the here after. “Be all you can Be…” If and when the things of this world becomes your god… Then It will determine where you will spend your eternity.

It’s time to turn from Satan and Be all you can Be for God.  John 5:24 says, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” The plan is simple to “Be all you Can Be” for God.  Just Hear & Believe.

Again I ask… are you being all you can be for God?  Maybe you have never believed and trusted in God.  Or maybe you have believed in God, but Satan has started to deceive you by saying “Be all you can be.’  If this sounds like you, it’s time to make things right and there is no better time than now.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
