This week I would like to take a look at consequences on how we live our lives. From our childhood most of us were taught right from wrong from our parents. If we did something wrong, there was a punishment for what we had done. We needed to take responsibility for our actions.
We also learned about the laws in this country. Most of our laws were based on God’s word in the Bible. America was founded on the freedom and fundamentals of Christianity.
However, our lawmakers today are turning away from the fundamentals we were founded on. Our lawmakers are passing new laws to promote a sinful lifestyle. They have legalized abortion, drugs, and homosexual marriage, just to name a few. Also our lawmakers have passed laws to take prayer and God out of schools, courts, and government. I think these are some of the places that need God and prayer the most!
My friends, If it was a sin in your parents and grandparents day, It’s still a sin today. Contrary to the belief of some modern churches today, God and the Bible has not, nor will ever change! A sin is still a sin even if man’s laws permit it.
When we break man’s laws there are consequences for our actions. We may get arrested, fined or due some time in jail. If we violate God’s laws, there are also consequences. Romans 6:23 Tells us, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This verse gives us the consequences for sin, death or an eternity away from God in a place called Hell. But this verse also tells us there’s a way to have this death sentence commuted. It’s a gift from God. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
This is a free gift from God. All we have to do is to ask God for the gift. When we ask God to forgive us of our sins, God will pardon us and will give us His free gift no matter what your transgressions are. This will begin a relationship with God that will last forever.
In closing, none of us is guaranteed another hour on earth. Are you ready for death? Have your sins been Pardon or forgiven? We will answer to God for everything we have done on this earth. Some will be pardoned and thier transgressions forgiven and others will pay the consequences for the way we lived our life for eternity.
So here’s the Final Question, how’s your relationship with God? Maybe you never had a relationship with Jesus, or maybe you have lost your fellowship with Him. There’s no better time than the present to get a relationship with God or to renew your relationship with Him. Remember, none of us is guaranteed another second on this earth.
Please just take a moment right now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior. All you need to do is ask the Lord to come into your life. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
