Excitement

Magnificent Promises

Today I would like to speak a little bit about excitement. How excited would you be if you won a new car or a large sum of money? Even small things can get you excited, like finding an exceptional buy on some clothing, or catching a large fish. Think about it, you don’t want to hide it… you get excited and share it with others.

Becoming a Christian is one of the most exciting things to happen in our life and maybe one of the best kept secrets. I think most of us, when good things happen in our life, would tell everyone we know about a life changing event. It’s time we get excited again about our salvation and spread the news.

Have you ever gone into a church and didn’t know if you were there for a funeral or for a service worshiping God? Unfortunately, many Christians today have lost the initial excitement. Sometimes, when we look around a church, it seems like a bunch of zombies sitting in the pews. You can find just about the same excitement at a funeral. You look around and there’s no one smiling and no expressions on their face at all. It seems like they don’t want to be there. The individuals have lost their excitement and so has the church.

Remember back when you first became a Christian, you gave your life to Christ and the joy and happiness you felt. So much so, it was hard to contain your excitement. Over time we tend to lose some of this excitement. We get into a routine of doing what is required of us by God and nothing else. Please don’t get me wrong, to be excited about our Lord doesn’t mean you have to run up and down the church aisles shouting. If you are truly excited about our Lord, it will show on your face, in your speech, and in your life. When you’re excited about something you tend to talk about it with your family, friends and even to strangers. You want to tell everyone how great it is! You want to share so they can experience it for themselves.

So, here’s my question to you, are you excited about your salvation? After all this is the most important and exciting thing to happen in your life. Are you telling everyone you know about your savior, or are you keeping it a secret of what God has done for you? Are you a closet Christian?  Well, my friend, it’s time to come out of the closet. It’s time to get excited about what our Lord has done and is doing for you. It’s time to share with others what God has done. Our time on this earth is very short. We are not guaranteed another hour or day on this earth. The Lord could come back at any time. We need to share our salvation and our faith in God.

In closing let me ask you a question. Do you still have that excitement as a Christian you once had? Maybe you’ve lost your initial excitement. It’s time to wake up your excitement about what the Lord has done for you.

There is no better time than the present. Just take a moment now and rededicate yourself to Christ Our Savior. Maybe you’ve never had that excitement in your life. Now’s the Time to ask the Lord to come into your life.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, It’s time to make it right. It’s time to pray. Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
