God’s Will…

Magnificent Promises

I hope everyone had a good and enjoyable Easter.  Last week I was thinking about God’s will.  We often pray and ask God, “Your will be done.” But what are we really saying?

Let’s take a look at The Lord’s will. Have you ever thought about God’s Will?  I think most of us may have thought a little about God’s will in our lives’. How about God’s will for the world?  Some interesting questions.

When we pray the Lord’s Prayer (in Matthew 6:10) we say, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.”   What does that mean? Thy will to be done. We are asking God to do His wants and desires here on earth.  That we will submit to his will.  God’s will, will be done even if we do not like the outcome.

Let’s take a look at a little history.  Remember, God permitted Judas to betray Jesus.  Satan used Judas’ greed for money, 30 pieces of silver, to have Jesus arrested.  After Judas betrayed Jesus, he was filled with guilt and remorse, he returned the silver and then hung himself.  God used Judas for His purpose.

When you look back in history you have to stop and think about people like Mao the great in China killed 45 million people, Germany’s Adolf Hilter killed between 5 & 6 million jews, and today we have Vladimir Putin killing citizens of Ukraine.  Why has God allowed Satan to use these leaders? Is this His will?

Unfortunately, we do not see the big picture as God sees it. We have no idea why these things are happening. Is God getting things ready for Christ’s return and the end of the world?  Could be… We just don’t know. In Matthew 24:6-7 Jesus told us, “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.”  Jesus told us there would be wars and rumors of wars before He comes back.

One thing we know for sure is, God’s will for our lives.  God wants to have a relationship with each one of us forever.  God gives us the opportunity to start a relationship with Him on this earth. Then in return He’ll give us an eternal relationship in heaven with Him.

In closing, none of us is guaranteed another hour on earth.  Are you ready for  death?  What will God say about your life?  If you want to be sure where you will spend eternity, you need a relationship with Him.

So here’s the Final Question, how’s your relationship with God? Maybe you never had a relationship with Jesus, or maybe you have lost your fellowship with Him. There’s no better time than the present to get a relationship with God or to renew your relationship with Him. Remember, none of us is guaranteed another second on this earth.

Please just take a moment right now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior. All you need to do is ask the Lord to come into your life. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
