Today I would like to talk a little bit about hatred. There is so much hatred in this country today… I feel there is more hatred than ever before. You just have to turn on the news to see it. There’s hatred towards our President, for police, for race, for freedom and this way of life.
Let’s look a little deeper into this. Why is there so much hatred? What is this hatred based on? Where does it come from? We need to be able to answer these questions. Yes there was an injustice done by a bad cop. This cop was arrested and is awaiting trial at this time. The hatred is far larger than this. Why is that? Why have the cities all over this country been burned down? It’s pure HATE.
This hate has inspired people to protest. Peaceful protest is a right given to us by the U.S. Constitution. This right doesn’t include violence, riots or destruction of property. When a protest reaches this level it is nothing but hatred and greed.
So what is the result of these protests? Has these protest brought any change? Let’s see, so far the names of schools, streets, buildings and even a pancake mix have been changed. Statues have been removed or torn down. Some Police Departments have been defunded. New laws have been passed to make racism and discrimination illegal. Please tell me… How does this stop the problem of hatred? None of this will have any effect on the root of the problem.
Where does all of this hatred come from? Did we wake up one day and hate! Think about this my friend, when a child is born there is NO hatred. Hatred is learned! A baby only knows to Love. So where does the child learn to hate? There are a number of places, but the first one is you. Your child wants to be like you and will imitate everything you do. If you show hatred to others your child will see it. Then there the other leaders in their life. Maybe a teacher, Church leader or a peer they look up to. You need to take control of who is teaching your child. Just remember if you are not teaching them God’s ways, Someone is teaching them the way of Satan. Remember that God is Love and Satan is Hatred and deceit.
God’s word tells us to love our neighbor. In Matthew 22:37-39 says, “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Jesus gave these two commandments over 2000 years ago and it’s still the solution to all the unrest and problems in this country today. We need to teach our children to love others like they love themselves. If we did this, there would be a lot less problems today.
All of this unrest was foretold in the bible over 2000 years ago. In 2 Timothy 3:1-5 we find this, “But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!” All of the Bible prophecy has come to pass. The only thing left is Christ coming back for His church. My question to you is “Are you ready for that day?”
Do you have hatred in your heart? In 1 John 4:20 we are told “If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” Please don’t let hatred keep you out of the kingdom of God. Please take a few moments right now and pray. There’s no better time than the present! Ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and come into your life. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Asking God to be in Your life is only a prayer away. It’s free, It’s easy! If there is any hatred in your life, just ask God to forgive you and to take the hatred out of your life.
