Does God Hear Me???

Magnificent Promises

A few weeks ago, I heard a comment about prayer.  This person said, “God doesn’t hear me”.  Then he went on to say, “Why even pray… Nothing will happen… God doesn’t hear me… It’s just a waste of time”.  Wow, I could only think how miss guided and deceived he was.  Sounds like he was totally defeated.

This week I want to take a look at the question “Does God Hear Me?”  In Psalms 55:17 we find this, “Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.” One reason we know God hears our prayers is because He has promised to hear them! Even if He doesn’t always answer the way we think He should, He still hears us.

Why does it seem that He doesn’t hear?  It’s often been said that God answers prayer in one of three ways: “Yes”, “No”, and “Wait”.  We see only part of the picture, but God sees the whole. This is why we must seek God’s will when we pray, and not just our own.

Satan will do all that he can to frustrate our faith, and if we are not careful, he can convince us that God either does not care, or that He is not listening. In times when this does take place, we know immediately that the devil is a liar, because God has given us His Word which assures us that we can know that he hears us when we pray.

When it comes to prayer, faith is a fundamental part. We know that God hears our prayers because we have faith in who He is and what He is able to do. Do you think your problems are too difficult for the Lord to handle, the One who spoke into existent the earth and all that within? Do you believe that He is able? There is a wonderful verse from the book of Ephesians that tells us just how great our God is: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Why then, does God sometimes seem deaf to our prayers? One reason may be because we’ve allowed sin to take root in our hearts—and sin always cuts us off from God. It may be anger, or hatred, or prejudice, or an unclean habit, or anything else that we’ve allowed to pollute our souls. This is why we need to make sure we’ve given our lives to Jesus Christ, because He came into the world to cleanse us of our sins. Have you given your life to Him?

If you haven’t received answers for your prayers, maybe its’s time we look at our relationship with God. How’s your relationship with Him? Maybe you have never had a relationship with God, or maybe you had one and it’s slowly faded away over the years. My Friend, now’s the time to get a relationship or renew your relationship with God.  God wants to help you and He is waiting on you.  He’s only a prayer away!

Please just take a moment now, dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior. All you need to do is ask the Lord to come into your life. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Just like our earthly father, Our Father in Heaven will listen to and answer your prayers.   Philippians 4:6 tells us, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;” My prayer is that God will truly Help and Bless you.
