The Big Show…

The Big Show!

Queen's funeral watched by 37.5 million in UK – 4 billion worldwide | Radio Times

This week I was reflecting on Queen Elizabeth II funeral last week. Wow, what a spectacular and beautiful event.  The funeral was very well planned, rehearsed and no expenses were spared. This historic live event was watched by millions around the world. In fact, there were 14 million here in the USA according to the Nielsen Ratings.  This was definitely one of the biggest world events that I’ve seen in my lifetime.

I started thinking about all the huge world events that have taken place.  Like the world wars, putting a man on the moon, 9-11 attack, Covid, the great flood, the Roman empire and conquests, just to name a few.  This got me thinking about the world changing events that’s found in the Bible. Let’s take a look at a few…

The first one that comes to mind is, God freed the Hebrew people from the bonds of slavery in Egypt. (Exodus chapters 2 thru 12) Then Moses let some 3 million plus people to the promised land. That was definitely a world changing event. More

The second event that came to mind is, the original sin committed by Adam and Eve. (See Genesis Chapter 2) Think about living in paradise with your Creator forever. Then through your disobedience (listening to Satan) then ate from the tree the fruit of knowledge of good evil. This completely changes this world from a paradise to the sinful world as we know it. A small action but with a huge consequence.

Third thing I thought about was Palm Sunday and the Crucifixion. This all started when Jesus riding a donkey entered Jerusalem. John 12:13-15 says, The next day a great multitude that had come to the feast, when they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, took branches of palm trees and went out to meet Him, and cried out: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’ The King of Israel!” Then Jesus, when He had found a young donkey, sat on it; as it is written:  Fear not, daughter of Zion; Behold, your King is coming, Sitting on a donkey’s colt.”  This began as a parade-like event with a multitude of people. They put down palm branches and clothing in front of Jesus. That was to honor and celebrate Jesus as their Savior and King, but in just a matter of about a week, Jesus went from King and Savior to the cross. They would crucify Him. His death and then His subsequent resurrection changed the world forever. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for our sin. Romans 5:8, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This was the start of Christianity. Definitely a world changing event.

The final huge event that will change the world, hasn’t come yet. This event is the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 tells us, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”  This event is called the rapture. All the born-again Christians will be called up to join our Lord. First those in the graves will go to be with Christ and then living Christians will follow to meet Him.  This will be the greatest event to ever happen on this earth. If you think Queen Elizabeth II was a big event…. wait till you see the parade and celebration in Heaven. So, are you going to be there?

In Closing, are you 100% certain that you will be at that celebration in Heaven?  Do you have any doubts about it? Remember the alternative is an eternity of pain and suffering in Hell. 1 Corinthians 2:9 tells us about Heaven, “But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” In other words, we cannot even imagine what God has for us in Heaven.

Do you want to be doubt free on where you will spend eternity? It starts with a relationship with Jesus. So, how is your relationship with Him? Maybe you never had a relationship with God, or maybe you have lost your fellowship with Him. There’s no better time than the present to get a relationship with God or to renew your relationship with Him. Please just take a moment right now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior.  Then you will have the assurance where you spend eternity.

All you need to do is ask the Lord to come into your life. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

May God Bless you.
