The Sunday Christian

The Sunday Christian

What is the Sunday Christian?  You will find the Sunday Christian in church every Sunday  singing, tithing, praying, and supporting social functions. .  There is nothing wrong with what they are doing, but they are missing one very important thing…….A personal relationship with Jesus Christ. No matter what we do we can not earn our way to heaven! We are saved by Grace!

Then Monday comes, the kids are sick, you’re late for work, the car won’t start, you forgot to charge the cell phone.  It seems like everything that can go wrong has gone wrong. We’ve all been there and had those days but it is how you react to it that matters. Is your reaction a worldly reaction or Christian reaction?   Did you use a few Choice words, or yell at the kids?  How did you respond? Did you take it to the Lord in prayer. God wants to be involved in every aspect of your life and will help you with every aspect of your life. I’m not saying that you won’t have trials and tribulations…. But God will enable you handle them all!  All we have to do is ask!

Remember there is a judgement day coming where we will all stand in front of God. I’m afraid there will be a lot of Sunday Christians standing there that God will not know.  It doesn’t matter how many times you went to church, or how much money you have given to the church or anything you have done for the church. You need a personal relationship with God.  God knows what’s in your thoughts and heart. You may be able to fool the Person sitting next to you in church but you will have no excuses when you stand in front of God on that judgement day.

Below is the words from our Lord found in Luke 13: 24 – 27

24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ 26 then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ 27 But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’

Don’t be left outside the door, today start a personal relationship!

I thank you for reading my blog. I do not claim to be any expert or affiliated with any religious organization. All I can say is that I’m affiliated with my Lord Jesus Christ. This is one man’s opinion and observation. My hope is I stirred up some thoughts for you to think about. There is one place that we can find all the answers to life. That road map is Commonly known as the Bible. If you want the answers to life all you have to do is read.
