Unexcited…

Magnificent Promises

The Unexcited Christian

Have you ever gone into a church and didn’t know if you were there for a funeral or for a service worshipping God?

Today I would like to speak a little bit about excitement.  Unfortunately many churches today have lost the initial excitement of Christ.  Sometimes it looks like a bunch of zombies sitting in the pews.  These  individuals have lost their excitement and probably so has the church. You find just about the same excitement that you find at a funeral. You look around and there’s no one smiling and with no expressions on their face at all. It seems like they don’t want to be there.

Think back and remember when you first became a Christian… when you gave your life to Christ and the feeling of joy and happiness. You couldn’t suppress that feeling in your life or keep it in even if you tried.  The joy of the Lord would show on your face. Then over time, if we do not refresh this joy, we will tend to lose the excitement.  We get into a routine just doing what is required by God. Don’t get me wrong… to be excited about our Lord does not necessarily mean running up and down the church aisles and shouting. Doing that is fine, but people show excitement in many different ways.  Your excitement will always show on your face and the way you live your life.

If you’re excited about something you tend to talk about it to anyone that will listen and some that won’t.  You want to tell everyone how great it is.  How they can experience it for themselves. Here’s a couple of examples to think about… ladies, if you find an exceptional buy on something you get excited about it. You want to tell and spread the news. That’s the same with us men… if you bag a 10-point deer you don’t hide it you get excited and share it.  Think about this, you tell everyone!

Now my question to you is this… Are you excited about your salvation?  After all this is the most important and exciting thing in your life.  Are you telling everyone you know about your savior?  Or are you hiding what God has done for you.  Are you a closet Christian? You know the one that is afraid to talk about god to others?  Well my friend, it’s time to come out of the closet.

In Psalms 51:12 David prays to god this, “Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with thy free spirit.”  David Lost his excitement about God.  He wanted to restore the close relationship and joy of God.  It’s time you get excited about what our Lord has done for you!

Our Time here on earth is very short. In James 4:14 we find “whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.”  Time is very short… the Lord may come back at any time. We need to share our salvation and our faith in God with everyone!

Are you an excited Christian? Or have you lost that initial excitement you had.  It’s time to wake up the excitement!!!  The Lord has given you the greatest gift of all… Eternal Salvation!  There is no better time than the present to renew your faith.  Just take a moment now and rededicate yourself to Christ Our Savior.

If you’ve never had that excitement in your life, Now’s the time to ask the Lord to come into your life.  Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away and don’t have the excitement… It’s time to make it right.  It’s time to pray. Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. we find this in 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  Now is the time for spiritual renewal and or Salvation. It is only a prayer away. It’s free, It’s easy and you don’t even need a credit card. Just ask God to forgive and to come into your life.
