Welcome to 2023

Happy New Year!

As we say goodbye to 2022, and welcome in the New year of 2023, we need to take a moment and reflect on our lives. Did the things that happened to us last year make us Stronger? Weaker? What did we learn? What happened to last year’s New Year’s resolutions? How can we make it better in 2023? Let’s take a look at these tough questions.

Did the things that happened to us last year make us Stronger? Weaker? We are all affected by everything that happened to us last year. Maybe some things like… bought a new house, a car, got married, found a new job, or had a baby, just to mention a few good things. How about these… a family members death, loss of your job, a divorce, an auto accident, and health problems just to mention a few bad ones. Some will say 2022 was a terrible year while others will say It was a great year. In Romans 8:28 tells us “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” Notice in the scripture it says ALL things, not some or a few things but ALL things work for the good of those who love God. There’s an old saying that “Every cloud has a silver lining.” Yes bad things happen to us all, but it’s how we react to them. My Friends, what kind of year you have depends on your attitude. Do you look for the silver lining in the cloud? Or do you just see the doom. Proverbs 17:22 says, “A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Being a Christian doesn’t mean we will have a life of ease. In fact, the Devil never bothered me until I was saved. But that moment I accepted God and gave Him control of my life, the battle began. In John 16:33 Jesus tells us “These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” If 2022 was a bad year for you and you want 2023 to be better… Don’t let Satan defeat you. Sure, you’re going to have troubles and hard times, but you can still have peace that only a relationship with Jesus can bring. We need to recognize the battle, with Satan, that’s the first step to defeat him.

Are you prepared for the battle? To get ready for battle starts with having a relationship and fellowship with God. Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and arose from the grave. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

In Closing… This is the time of year we make New Year’s Resolutions to change our life’s. Most of them concern this world, like losing weight, finding a new job, more time with family, to name a few. Please don’t forget your spiritual resolutions! Maybe it’s to read the bible more, tithes, attending more services, daily devotions, pray more, just to name a few. Let’s make a resolution to change our spiritual life.

Let’s make 2023 the Best Year of Your Life. I pray that God will bless and keep you in the New Year.
