Christian?

This week I would like to talk about our Christian beliefs. Pew Research shows 65% of American adults profess to be Christians. Of those that identify as Christians, 43% claim to be protestant and 20% as Catholic. I Guess the real question is… How many of those professing to be Christians are true born-again believers.

True born-again believers are the ones who profess Christianity but also live the life of a true believer.  In other words, they don’t only talk the talk, but they walk the walk. This isn’t anything new. Isaiah 29:13 says, Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

They were giving God lip services in the Old Testament but were saying just words.  There was no feelings or their heart was in the words. Today, there are a lot of professing Christain’s that do the same thing.

In today’s world, it is not uncommon to see individuals who claim to be Christians but only demonstrate their faith on Sundays when they attend church. These individuals may pray, sing hymns, and recite Bible verses, but once they step out of the church doors, their behavior and actions contradict the very principles they claim to believe in. This professing Christian leaves their Christain faith at the church. Satan loves this kind of hypocrisy because it is not only damaging to the individual’s spiritual growth but also to the image of Christ.

Satan deceive them about their faith. Satan may even convince themselves that they are fulfilling their religious duties by attending church and participating in religious activities, but deep down, they know that their heart is not in it. This self-deception prevents them from experiencing the true transformation that faith in Christ offers.

A Sunday Christian is like playing a game with eternal consequences. It is a dangerous game where one is betting their eternity. By only doing the right thing in public and serving Satan in private, they are playing with fire. It is important to remember that true faith is not just about going through the motions or putting on a show. It is about having a genuine relationship with God and living out His teachings in every aspect of life.

The final result of Sunday morning Christian without genuine faith is spending eternity in Hell. This is a sobering reality that should make anyone pause and reconsider their actions. The Bible warns about the consequences of hypocrisy and false faith, stating that “not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 7:21). It is not enough to profess one’s faith; one must also live it out authentically.

Instead of playing Christian and deceiving oneself, it is important to strive for a genuine and authentic faith. This means aligning one’s beliefs with their actions, both in public and in private. It means seeking a personal relationship with God, allowing His Word to transform their hearts and minds, and living a life that reflects Gods’ love, grace, and truth of Christ.

In closing, how is your relationship with Christ? Is Satan deceiving you by telling you that you are doing all the right things. It is not what you do that will get you into Heaven… It is who you know!

This may be your last day on earth so now is the time to get right with God.  Maybe you have fallen away need to renew your friendship with God and get the peace you once had. Please take the time now and pray…tomorrow maybe too late.

Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and arose from the grave. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” and in Romans 10:9 tells us, ”that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
