Miracles Still Happens…

Magnificent Promises

For everyone who thinks God doesn’t answer prayers and perform miracles, I would like to share with you something that happened to me this week.   A little background for those who do not know me, I retired to a remote location on a mountain top.  I have one neighbor within shouting distance.  I’m a big man and 69 years old with COPD.

Being in the remote country setting, I enjoy watching all the wild life on my property. To help I have a game camera set up so I can see the animals overnight.   Last Thursday around 5 pm I decided to change its location from the front yard to the back yard.  Off my screen porch, I have a small wood deck about 5 feet off the ground that is used for grilling.  I decided to put the camera there.

I took the camera and set it up on the corner of this deck.  I know the wood on this deck needs to be replaced, but I don’t use it very often and with Covid it’s almost impossible to get anyone out to my remote location.  As I was walking to come back into the house I heard the wood  crack.

The next thing I knew, I fell through the deck.  My feet was off the ground and my tummy was on the deck.  The top part of my body was above the deck with the bottom below it.   During the fall, I injured one of my arms and it hurt to much to use it.  I was stuck!!! There was no room for any movement in the hole.  It’s was hard to breathe because of the pressure on my gut.  But I was able to prop myself up with the other arm which enabled me to breathe easier.

Because I was truly stuck and couldn’t move, I decided the best plan of action was to try to get my only neighbors attention for help. I started yelling for help.  This continued for about 30 minutes.  There was no response.  They either wasn’t home or couldn’t hear me.

Still stuck and holding myself up with one arm to help me breathe, I had resigned myself that I was going to be there for a while, and maybe overnight.  I decided it was now time to ask God for His help.  As I was praying for God to help me, I felt my tummy start to slip through the hole in the deck.  I knew that God was helping me get through the hole and answering my prayer.  I slid through this tiny hole to the ground and was able to walk out from under the deck.

God heard my prayer and answered the prayer immediately.  Here’s the miracle…. This hole measures about 16″ square.  I’m a big man, I wear a 5XT shirt and there’s no way humanly possible for me to go through that hole.  This was truly an answer to prayer and a miracle from God.  God Protected me and I walked away with a sore shoulder,  some scrapes, cuts and bruises.  Thank You Lord… It could have been much worse.

Finally there’s a couple of things that happened I would like to look at.

1. – The first thing I did after realizing I was stuck and could not get myself out, I call for help. I turn to man and not to God for my help. Psalm 118:8 tells us this “It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence(Trust) in man.” I think it’s our human nature to first try to solve the problem and then ask for help.

2. – After nothing else worked for me, I finally turn to God. I believe this was God teaching me thru adversity. We speak about life’s lessons, this was a God lesson. While I was praying… God was already answering my prayer.  John 14:14 tells us, “If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.”

In Closing we have a God that answers prayer and still performs miracles.  The greatest miracle that God does is saving a sinner from the eternal torments of hell.  So here’s my question to you… Have you experienced Gods miracle?  Maybe you have fallen away from God?  Please don’t wait until your stuck somewhere before you turn to Him.  There’s no better time than right this minute, to get the life changing miracle from God.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

I pray that God will truly Help and Bless you. If you would like for me to pray with you, please email me at Bob.L@magnificentPromises.com.
