Our Prayers to God…

Magnificent Promises

Today I would like to talk a little about prayers. If your a new Christian or one that has been around for a while, There might be some questions about praying. Let’s take a look at one of the most important things we do.

What is prayer? Simply put, Prayer is a conversation between God and you. Today we can talk directly to God because Jesus Christ removed the barrier of sin that was between God and us. Because Christ died for our sin, we now can approach the throne of God in prayer. In Hebrews 4:16 says “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Is your prayer of Complaint? Let’s look at this a little closer. In Philippians 2:14 we find this, “Do all things without complaining and disputing”. (NKJV) But on the other hand in “Psalm 142:4 David says “I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble.” Well then… Is it wrong to complain or not?

In Numbers  chapter 11 the Israelites complained about their food. They were complaining or grumbling about the food god had provided. They were Not grateful for what they had and they grumbled that God didn’t give them more.  They remembered the fish and meat they had in Egypt. They were BLAMING God for their situation. This made God angry. In Psalm 142 David is complaining about his situation, but is ASKING God for His help. He is telling God about all of his troubles, but not blaming God for the trouble. Something to think about today. Are we saying to God “What a fine mess You (God) got me into” or “ What a fine mess I got myself into”?

So in conclusion, A prayer with the right attitude is good. Asking God to help you in every situation. We should never blame God for our situation. In 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you”. Always pray with the right attitude. No matter what your situation or what troubles you, Remember… Tell it to the Lord for He cares!

If you don’t have a personal relationship with God, There is no better time than now. It’s easy, there is no cost,or requirements… Just ask Jesus Christ to forgive your sins and come into your life. Feel free to contact me. I would be happy to pray with you. May God Bless you.
