Do you have Insurance?

This week I would like to talk a little about insurance. We buy insurance for our cars, our homes, our health and even our life. We insure our property and ourselves against any catastrophic event that might happen to us. We feel a since of safety that if something happens the insurance will help us get through that event. Let’s look at another kind of insurance… Fire insurance.

According to Pew research,72% of Americans believe in the existence of Heaven. Defined as a place “where people who have led good lives are eternally rewarded,” But at the same time, 58% of U.S. adults also believe in hell, a place “where people who have led bad lives and die without being sorry are eternally punished.” It amazes me how 14% of the people that believe in heaven do not believe there’s a place called hell.

I can assure you my friend, that hell is a real place. It is a place of torture and torment for those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. In Matthew 24:45-46 Jesus said, “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” That is eternal Punishment in HELL or eternal Life in HEAVEN. Also in Matthew 13:41-42 we find another mention of Hell. “The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (NIV)

Today I hear people joke about being in Hell, that it might not be so bad after all. First of all, this is no joke, the Bible says in Revelations 14:10-11 “they will be tormented with burning sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” As we see from this verse that hell is a place of torment for ever and ever. There is no escape.

Do you need Fire Insurance? Make no doubt about it, hell is the real place! Today we are making the choices of where we will spend eternity. It’s your choice to accept Jesus Christ as your savior and his forgiveness and spend forever in heaven… Or you can accept and follow Satan and His worldly teachings and choose to spend eternity and suffering in a place called Hell.

If you’re not sure about where you’re spending eternity, take the time right now and pray… The time to get Fire Insurance is before you need it. Tomorrow may be too late.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins on the cross and then raised Him from the dead. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” and in Romans 10:9 tells us. ”that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
