I hear a knock at the door… By Vernon Hodges

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come into him and will dine with him, and he with Me.” Revelation 3:20 (NASB)

Have you ever wondered what Jesus was saying from outside the closed door? The previous verse gives us a bit of a clue as He admonishes the church, “…turn from your indifference.” (Revelation 3:19). And yet, we are still given a choice: even if we hear His voice, He leaves it up to us whether to open the door and invite Him in.

“Jesus, the Light of the World, stands at a door, which is overgrown with ivy and weeds. The door clearly represents the door of someone’s life. This person has never invited Jesus to come into his or her life. Jesus is standing at the door and knocking. He is awaiting a response. He wants to come in and be part of that person’s life.”

“In other words, we have to open the door to let Jesus into our lives. Jesus will never force his way in. He gives us the freedom to choose. It is up to us whether we open the door to him. If we do, he promises, ‘I will come in and eat with them and they with me’ Eating together is a sign of the friendship which Jesus offers to all those who open the door of their lives to him.”

Jesus is constantly knocking on the door of the unbeliever, hoping they will open and invite Him in. But when they fail to do so, perhaps He goes away sad and waits for another opportune time when they might be more open.

God has made it possible for you to know Him and experience an amazing change in your own life. Discover how you can find peace with God it all starts with Jesus Christ who stands at the spiritual door of your heart asking for you to open the door and allow him to enter. If you never invite Jesus into your heart you will never have peace with God nor will your sins be forgiven.

Jesus is the way to God and through faith in Christ our sins will be forgiven, and we will find our way to God who desires to have a spiritual relationship with Him. John 14:6 No one can enter God’s Kingdom without repenting, turning to Christ to be forgiven. Christ is the doorway to Heaven and we all must go through this door if we are to spend eternity with God.

Jesus is standing at the door of your heart and he wants to come in that he may talk with you and lead you to the Kingdom of God.

Thank you Brother Hodges.  My question to you is… Have you answered the door?  Jesus is waiting for you to open the door and invite Him in.  Please don’t leave Him standing on the porch waiting.

We are all standing on the edge of eternity. None of us are promised another day. So please don’t put this off! There is no better time than the present to start or maybe renew your relationship with God. Take a moment now and dedicate yourself to Christ Our Savior.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

I pray that God will truly Help and Bless you.
