This week I would like to look at our priority. The things of this would seems to take more and more of our time. Things like jobs and family seem to need more time. There’s only so many hours in a day, so we take time from other areas of our life… Such as entertainment, fitness and God. I want to look at the time we give to our Lord and keeping Him first in our lives.
Putting God first means making Him the priority in every aspect of our lives. This can be challenging in a world that values material possessions, instant gratification, and individualism. However, when we place God at the center of our lives, we experience a sense of purpose, fulfillment, and peace that cannot be found in anything else.
Matthew 6:33 says “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.“
One way to put God first is to begin each day with prayer and meditation. This sets the tone for the day and helps us to focus on what is truly important. By spending time in prayer, we show our dependence on God and acknowledge His sovereignty over our lives. This practice also helps us to develop a deeper relationship with God, which is essential for spiritual growth.
Philippians 4:6 says “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God“
Another way to put God first is to prioritize reading the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God and contains everything we need to know about Him and His plan for our lives. By reading the Bible regularly, we gain wisdom, understanding, and guidance that help us to make wise decisions and live according to God’s will.
2 Timothy 2:15 says “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.“
Putting God first also means seeking His will in everything we do. This requires surrendering our own desires and plans to God and trusting that His plan for our lives is better than anything we could come up with on our own. When we seek God’s will, we open ourselves up to opportunities that we may not have considered before and find peace in knowing that we are following His plan for our lives.
Proverbs 16:3 Says “Commit your works to the Lord, And your thoughts will be established.“
Additionally, putting God first means using our talents and resources to serve Him and others. We are called to love our neighbors as ourselves and to use our gifts to make a positive impact in the world. When we serve others, we are serving God, and this brings glory to Him.
Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.“
Finally, putting God first means being obedient to His commands. This includes living a life of integrity, treating others with kindness and respect, and avoiding sin. Obedience to God’s commands is not always easy, but it is essential for a life that is pleasing to Him.
In conclusion, putting God first requires intentional effort and a willingness to surrender our own desires and plans to Him. By making God the priority in our lives, we experience the abundant life that He promises, filled with joy, peace, and purpose. Let us make a commitment to put God first in all that we do, and trust that He will guide us every step of the way.
Thank you… May we keep God first in all of our life.

Please… if you don’t know Christ or have fallen away, please pray… Tell God you believe His Son Jesus paid for your sins and rose again. Tell God you are sorry and want to start Living for Him. He will forgive your sins and mistakes and give you Everlasting Life with Him… and place His Spirit deep within your heart. In 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” and in Romans 10:9 tells us. ”that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;“
